**IT'S ALBUM SEASON Y'ALL•Week Two**

Hiya!

We are back again with another week of #albumseason and Jesus this one's a doozy. SO. MUCH. MUSIC. So now do you get why this time of the year is #albumseason. Cuz all of the biggest artists are coming out with new and exciting things.

"You Need This To Be Sufficient in Today's World": 

One Direction- Made In The A.M.

Okay, no more dabbling. Let's get on with it, with One of the most amazing albums of the year. Like no joke, if this doesn't doesn't get a single Grammy Nom. I'm gonna do something drastic.

STARTING WITH THE MOST ANTICIPATED ALBUM SINCE..I wanna say February? That's when Zack Maleek left right? (and yes, I do realize that his name is in fact not Zack Maleek, but he's a butt nut and I refuse to call him his actual name)

1. Hey Angel- This song is so Coldplay. Like Jesus, I actually thought this was a Coldplay song. It's great. And it doesn't help that Harry Styles was tweeting lyrics to this song in particular in the lead up to the album release. Oh good lord, the vocals (although Styles domineering) are so so so good. So Coldplay, that's all I can say really. It's a great song to start off an album. Way to go Team 1D.

2. Drag Me Down- A classic, the beginning of it all. I really thought I was over this song, but the second I heard that fade in syth, I was JAMMIN. Just a really solid song that everybody apparently loves. From Halsey to All Time Low to fangirls everywhere, this song appeals to everyone.

3. Perfect- Basically, I'm still sobbing over their music video for this song. It's a great insight. Like "Is this what it's like to date a member of the biggest manband?" (I saw manband cuz just look at them. What men they are *swoon*) Like. I like causing trouble in hotel rooms. And I like midnight driving with windows down. Like, does that mean I'm perfect? Did I just get match made with a member of One Direction through a song? Also. @Harry_Styles I'll write my break up songs about you.

4. Infinity- NIALL GETS SO MANY OPENING LINES AND THAT'S WHERE I DIE. GET IT NIALL. Really good song though. Don't really know what to say about this one, it's just great. Also, their harmonies at the end of the chorus are like the sounds of an angel.

5. End of The Day- Really lovely song, this. If there's one song that I was really looking forward to hearing live it's this one. But that won't happen becauseThosebuttmunchesaretaking abreak. grr. But I can see myself really getting my hand waving to the chorus on. ALSO. EFFING LOUIS T HITS THE MOST BEAUTIFYL HIGH NOTE IN THE BRIDGE AND I WANT TO SCREECH, ,He properly nails it and I JSUT WANT TO HEAR THIS LIVE DAMN IT. Styles also hits a beautiful couple O' high notes as well. *cries*

6. If I Could Fly- How heartbreaking. This song is so emotional, just really pulls at your heart strings. Like you. can . tell. Styles. wrote. this. one. Also in a recent interview they did with Beats 1, a conjunction radio with Apple Music, Liam revealed that he cried while recording the song Styles wrote for the album. And it's obvs not Perfect, Olivia, A.M., or Walking in the Wind, so it HAS to be this one. Styles you brooding romantic thing, you. *sobs*

7. Long Way Down- THIS IS A GREAT ONE TOO. A very smooth soft and slow jam. I found it quite nice to have two of the four only covering the chorus, showcasing their nice vocals. It's a very simple, but effective song.

8. Never Enough- THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF THE ALBUM. oKAY  Lets be real, they're all my favorite. It's very fun and poppy. Both my mom and I agree it's very Disney. like Jungle Book or Lion King. And yes I made my mom listen to the entire album because I'm converting people to One Direction every chance I get.

9. Olivia- "I LOVE I LOVE IL OVE I LOVE OLIVIA" When Styles takes it to the bridge, but it also sounds soooo much like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's 'Pure Imagination', which makes it even more enticing.

10. What A Feeling- Dear god I've loved this one since it was released as a special pre-order track for the album. It's very Disco vibey. I can only compare this to like a mash between Fleetwood Mac and like ABBA, maybe? The lyrics get me good too. Like just leave me to fantasize about One Direction fawning over me. It's also a really good strutting across campus song. Like ya'll think I'm listening t- OH STYLES TAKING IT TO THE BRIDGE IS MY FAVORITE SO PRETTY. AND THE HARMONIES AFTER THE BRIDGE. THEY'RE SO GOOD  ACK. Anyway- Like people probably think I'm listening to some Woman Empowering Beyoncé song, but really I'm strutting to One Direction and internally sobbing.

11. Love You Goodbye- hOW HEART BREAKING. "why you wearing that to walk out of my life" Louis T wrote this song and I can't help but think how delicate of a thing he is and how we need to protect his little romantic heart. "myHEARTS ALREADY BREAKING BABY GO ON TWIST THE KNIFE" LOUIS. TOMLINSON. AND HE TAKES THE BRIDGE AND I SOB. WE NEED TO PROTECT THIS GLOBAL TREASURE. CALL IN THE NATIONAL GUARD. BOYS BE MORE LIKE LOUIS.T Also I lol at Styles' "yeahh" in the chorus after the bridge, it sounds so boyband and it makes me giggle.

12. I Want To Write You A Song- This one just really hurts my heart. It's so delicate and gorgeous. This is one of my favorite songs producing wise. It's very raw. When I mean raw, I mean I feel like I'm sitting in a writing session. Or sitting in the middle of the woods lake side and getting proposed to by all four of the 1D boys while there's twinkling hovering overhead and I've thought about this too much..... but the harmonies. HOW GREAT ARE THEY AT WHAT THEY DO. Without a doubt this is what they sound like live. They sound just as beautiful live in case you're wondering. God damn I love their harmonies. Brb sobbing uncontrollably. +One Direction Y'all can write a song about me.

13. History- Tune. The One D boys said this song was made for the fans and with the fans, because those absolute dreams brought fans into the stoooods to record backing vocals to make it more live sounding. and that's all i have. because im sobbing because they're so great. Also, do they say 'ting' cuz I've been struggling with this since it was released.

14. Temporary Fix- Ohhhhhhh my god. Dear lord help me. This song is so raunchy. This is No Control 2.0. If you haven't listened to 'No Control' from their fourth album, Four, then you must do that first and then you will understand my absolute death.  My jaw dropped and I could not get it to close. This is such a jam though. *Rock on emoji* all the way. ALSO NIALL. HORAN. LEAD THE LYRIC CHARGE ON THIS ONE CO-WRITING IT. AND NOW I NOW WHY HIS LAST NAME IS HORAN. NIALL YOU RAUNCHY LITTLE TING.

15. Walking in the Wind- THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE ELSES SONG AND I CAN'T TELL WHO IT IS. it's the beginning guitar and I CAN'T PINPOINT IT AND IT'S SO FRUSTRATING SOMEONE HELP ME. But this is a nice chilled song, an i believe it belongs in some sort of Disney movie. Brother Bear 3? +Disney please get on that please.

16. Wolves- It sounds very 50's then goes straight contemporary and it's so great. The chorus has to be my absolute favorite. This has a very raw production sound as well, but not as much as I Want To Write You A Song. A top contender for "Haley's Favorite Song Award"

17. A.M.- Very beautiful vocals ONCE AGAIN. I think this is a really good album closing song. Also One Direction sings their first ever "swear" word and its the dawning of a new One Direction era. I'm ready for the explicit rap album next. The lyrics are also so nostalgic, something everybody can relate to.

"Slay Honey Slay": 

Alright the "Slay Honey Slay" award goes to Hailee Steinfeld, as this week she released her first collection of music through her four song EP titled, 'Haiz'. Can I just say, sister honey is one sassy little thing. I adore her. Her songs are quite catchy as well, I almost didn't recognize her. I had to open my phone to be surprised it was sister Hailee. *Yay for all the Hailee/Haley's of the world #hailee/haleypower* Like obvs I had to have a Hailee featured on HeyHalesHey.

Alessia Cara- Sister Honey Alessia released her debut album, 'Know-It-All' to the world on Friday the 13th and I just recently found that she is only one year younger than me. Thanks girl, thanks for making me feel even more like the unaccomplished twenty year old that I am.  Both her and Hailee's albums have a similar vibe and sound to it. Alessia poses the triple threat with great vocals, amazing lyrics and catchy fun beats. Sister slayed.

Ed Sheeran- Honey Ed just released, like Sam Smith, a deluxe deluxe version of his recent album, 'X', but this time it's called 'X (Wembley Edition)'. Now if you thought that this would be a live album from his recent sold out stadium show at the famous Wembley Stadium, then, like me, you thought incorrectly. But there are eight additional songs. Which is quite grand, if you ask me. 

"You tried..":

Justin Bieber- Purpose

This in "You tried..." we have the baby himself Justin Bieber and his new album 'Purpose'. As you can see below, I tried to review this, but I honestly couldn't bring myself to finish actually listening to the album. I couldn't even finish the album, let alone actually formulate a positive opinion of this album. I just felt like there was a loss of genre and it was quite confusing, for me at least. Sorry Bieber, but at least now you can hoist the HeyHalesHey "You tried.." award proudly...(thought I should end this on a kinda high note just in case the Biebs sees it himself). Also, Biebs wins the 'You Tried To Compete With One Direction By Releasing Your Album The Same Day As One Direction, But Tragically Failed' award. 

1. Mark My Words- I'm sorry, but I just could not focus on the song because of the constant edited 'no no no's' in the background. Quite distracting Biebs. Sounds a bit like a fabricated baby cry. But nice high notes here Biebs.
2. I'll Show You- Oh, I'm into this. Good beat. I really like this one, very techno with very velvety vocals. Very touching lyrics Biebs, nice one. Rally makes one think about how you treat another person. Jam with a message. I like it Biebs.
3. What Do You Mean?- I originally didn't want to listen to this song when it was released due to my slight grudge against the Biebs, but then I caved and Jam. But then it was ruined because CONSENT PEOPLE. Please don't let mainstream media cover up basic human respect. Please respect other people.Okay. That's all the mom ranting I'll do for now. Continuing
4. Sorry- Okay I heard all the hype about this due to his acoustic performance on Ellen. And I really like this studio version. Good Biebs, she is more than her body. That's probably what you got you in trouble in the first place. Real nice slow jam Biebs.
5. Love Yourself- THE ED SONG!! 1 minute in- "where's ed....." Now I love a slow jam, but is this an FU song,,? 2 minutes in- "WheERE'SeD?!" Ends- "alright, ed why are you just a backing vocal man. 'Dear Biebs, Nobody puts baby in the backing vocal'" Unless that's Ed playing the trumpet, I'm quite disappointed in you Bieber. Also, you know what sister, yeah you love yourself, girl you don't need a Beaver in your life if he can't appreciate art, Bye.
6. Company- Alright, I told myself I wouldn't fall back into this Bieber hole again, but like his voice is so velvety smooth *swoon*
7. No Pressure- this just sounds like an Usher song. I really like the chorus though. The runs though, how nice. I realllyy like this one.
8. No Sense- Justin, please don't rap...please. Not a huge fan of this to be fair. It's like he should rap, but he doesn't. Kinda throws it off..
9. The Feeling- "I think I may have listened to this I- OH THIS IS THE HALS SONG! ALRIGHT, I HAVE LISTENED TO THIS. And I came to the harsh conclusion that if this was just Halsey's song, I would adore it. But Biebs ruins it for me, he throws the whole song. Maybs it just because adore Hals. So yeah, brb, editing out all of Bieber's parts and it can just be all Hals.

11. Where Are U Now- Okay I'm actually really surprised that this song wasn't higher up in the track list. And I have to give major props to Biebs and his team for picking this song as the first single to be released from this new album. It's very exemplary of how the album is going to sound

Importance and More Importance: 

Just a few things that are equally important, but my hands are cramping from this lengthy post so I won't go too much into detail. 

• Aussie YouTube sensation Troye Sivan released another song from his upcoming album 'Blue Neighbourhood' (obvs spelled the correct way cuz foreign spelling is better and more fun) called Youth. (Blue Neighbourhood is set to be released on December 3rd. Put it on your calendars, you won't regret it.)
• Devon Baldwin's new EP titled 'Lungs EP'
• Twin Limb- a softer Florence and The Machine. Like if you mixed Gabrielle Aplin and Florence. Maybe even a bit of Nina Nesbit, Twin limb would be that child. Soft electric. 
• Lawrence Taylor's 'Bang Bang' EP (basically the next James Bay/bae)

Okay, well I think that's all I have for this week. Next week we have the release of Adele's new album and I am already stocking up on my tissues, prepping myself to relive the nastiest of loves which I haven't encountered yet.

**ITS ALBUM SEASON Y'ALL•Week One**

Hiya!
Okay, I'm really excited. And I'm gonna tell you why!

Basically. It's album season. As briefly not explained in the title of this post.

Okay here's the deal. My best friend and I coined the idea of "Album Season". This is basically the time of the year where all the really good artists come out with their albums. To be honest, "Album Season" revolves around the release date of One Direction's albums. Which is usually the second or third week of November. But coincidentally enough, that's when all the tunes come out as well. Coincidence? I think not.  It's almost like One Direction inspires the world to do great things. Okay, but honestly, this month is PACKED with album releases. There's so much music coming and I might die because it's gonna be so. good. ACK.

This week we have girl power Friday with mah girls Ellie and Little Mix.

Ellie Goulding - Delirium

1. Intro (Delirium)- How Arabian Nights. I have no doubt that all that heavenly angelic singing was the doing of Ellie, cuz shes so talented and can hit insane registers that only angels can.
2. Aftertaste- Not my favorite. But still a good song. If I did Zumba, I'd suggest this song for a good Zumba workout.
3. Something in the Way You Move- Alright, This song is so good. Very classic Ellie. When she released this song as single earlier in October, I'm pretty sure I had it on repeat for about two days and played it pretty loud in my headphones that I almost hit some skateboarder with my bike on campus. Soz whoever you were, I was entranced by Ellie.
4. Keep On Dancing- I guess the only way I can describe this is as the inverse of SITWYM. Its sound is darker, moodier I guess. Its almost soothing, or maybe its just because I've been up since 6:30 am, and the sounds of bashing pans would be soothing at this point.
5. On My Mind- "You wanted my heart but I just liked your tattoos" GrEAT Line. Such a jam. Such a tune. I love this song. And when she's talking about someone elses tattoos, shes not talking about her McFly boyf. She said she didn't put any of the songs she wrote about him on the album, so I'm just really sad about that. but without having to exploit someone else, she still kills it.
6. Around You- The second this song started I decided I adore it. Its very hyper-pop. Its very fun. If i make the distinction to sort of K-Pop'y, I'm probably not right, but for some reason that's the correlation that I'm making right now.
7. Codes-  Yeah, alright, not to be quick to judge or anything but. This one's my favorite.
8. Holding On For Life- #neutral.
9. Love Me Like You Do- It was actually quite refreshing to hear this again after hating it because the radio ruins everything in the world by over playing songs. But I forgot how much I adored this song. Jam.
10. Don't Need Nobody- WAIT. JAM. THIS MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE SONG. WAIT. how empowering by the way. A tune with a message. My new album favorite. Yes Ellie Sister.
11. Don't Panic- Basically, in an interview with a British Journalist Ellie said this was one of her favorites, and damn it as I listen to this, Its my favorite. Wait. Okay to be honest, I wasn't blown away by the first half of this album, but the last few songs in the track list are great. I love the lyrics though. As someone who experiences slight anxiety at moments, this song is very reassuring. Also my toes AND calf just cramped up and I think its a sign saying to get up and dance to this wondrous song.
12. We Can't Move To This- Well, this is a different side to Ellie. Ellie is that you girl?
13. Army- ARMY THIS IS A GOOD ONE. I like slow songs okay. And every time I listen to this I imagine Ellie singing this to Dougie (her Boyf) because they're just the cutest and so is this song.
14. Lost and Found- This too is a great one. Its great with a shoulder shrug as well. Maybe a good head bob.
15. Devotion- Can't really explain why this song is so good, but it is. lol sorry im not more professional about this. Its very 90's electro pop, as electro pop can get in the 90's that is.
16. Scream It Out- What I love about this song is that its very emotionally raw. Its relatable. Refreshing. Assuring. It's soothing for the ceaseless heart. I love this song. damn it, THIS ONES MY FAVORITE.
17. The Greatest- "If this is a slow song, I'm gonna love it" *starts slow.*  "I love it."
I TOLD YOU I LOVE THE SLOW SONGS. Is it just me or is this album extremely therapeutic? "say you love me, say you love me, say you want this too"- such a good line. Its not even an extremely poetic line, i just love it.
18. I Do What I Love- This is quite different from the normal Ellie-esk sound. Oh also its explicit. How sassy though. You tell em sister Ellie.
19. Paradise- No comment really. lol god im horrible at this. Its like all the songs are very similar but different but similar so its hard to think of something I haven't already said.
20. Winner- ANOTHER SLOW SONG. This is like a brooding Love Me Like You Do. i like this one. Didn't knock Scream It Out off the favorite spot, but I still like it.
21. Heal- Quite dark, quite Ellie, quite dubby. Slightly unimpressed. I feel like this could have been in 50 Shades as well. Like at the part where he's not respecting her safe word and continues to abuse her and humans should really respect humans no matter what. That took quite the turn. wow. Moral- It should have been on the 50 Shades sountrack

Little Mix - Get Weird

(okay let me say right now. none of these songs are about a certain break up with a former member of one direction. kay thanks. bye) 

1. Black Magic- Literally, most perfect single they could have chosen, most perfect opening song they could have chosen. Just such a jam.  
2. Love Me Like You- This is such an 80's jam (that is approved of by One Direction themselves- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajiKh_bnD3U) Someone go back in time and add this song to the Grease music setlist or whatever it would be called. Sountrack?... This would work so great. Thanks. 
3. Weird People- AKA Little Mix saying "the haters gonna hate hate hate" but with less repetitive annoyance attached to it. Soz Swifty. 
4. Secret Love Song (ft Jason Derulo)- The second it started. I felt like crying. It's such a intimately heartbreaking song. Such a beautiful song with gorgeous vocals. Ugh (If you know anything about me, a proper ballad gets me every time. Probs why I adore this song so much.)
5. Hair- Sass. Sass. Sass. 
6. Grown- ALRIGHT Here's the sitch. These girls. Are. So. TALENTED. This song was performed as part of their opening set for One Direction at the Apple Music Festival. And THEY SOUND THE SAME LIVE. Such a sassy girl empowering song. I love them. As if I couldn't say it more. FYI- If you need a proper "wake up in the wee hours of the morning" jam, this is the one. 
7. I Love You- God I'm such a sucker for love songs. 
8. OMG- OKAY i REALLY LOVE THIS SONG. Its so greeat. girls bring the fierce in this. very britney spears esk. (oops I did it again). lol
9. Lightning- How sensual, This is very dark. And remixy. Lol at all the people who will try and remix this, too late people, girls already thought of it and smashed it. Quite contrasting to all the smooth and upbeat songs. If and when the girls come tour america, This is one of the songs I will be looking forward to seeing live. I'm very interested in how they will perform this song, girls put on quite a show. 
10. A.D.I.D.A.S- GIRLS oh my god im blushing. HOW RAUNCHY. GIRLS I am epitomizing the see no evil monkey emoji. oh my god sisters got real raunchy with this song, dear god i love them haha
11. Love Me or Leave Me- SLOW SONG ALERT HALEY ADMIRATION ALERT. AND ITS A LOVE SONG. I just love the raw emotion put into heartbreak songs. Also again, their vocals are beautiful. WHY ARE THEY SO TALENTED. 
12. The End- I had listened to this song live about a billion times and was blown away every time I listened to it. So I knew that I could not wait to hear the studio version. And THEN HARMONIES, dear lord the harmonies. Nobody else compares. Chills, CHILLS, *shiver shiver cry cry* they're so good at what they do. 

13. I Won't- So empowering. So self empowering for anybody. Dream on people. 

14. Secret Love Song Pt. II- alright, part two broke my heart even more. It's the personification, or should I say perSONGification of heart break. brb gonna go grab my Ben & Jerry's and switch on The Notebook. FYI- once again, the vocal are perfection as well. 

15. Clues Up- This is a very lady Human empowering song. This is what the world needs. Also I just found out that this song was co-written with sister Jessie J. This is such a Jessie J lyric. It all makes sense now. Very much a toned down version of Change Your Life from their debut album, DNA. 

16. The Beginning- OH. My. GDO. So here's how i usually go about these new album solo listening parties, because I would be far too embarrassing if I had these little music shin-digs with other people. But usually, I go and google the lyrics so I can have a better understanding of the lyrics. And I just looked up the lyrics and got really emosh. 

"Let's take it back to where it first began, They turned us strangers into closest friends, Turn the page and see the wonder that's here for you and I, Was all so different once upon a time, But now the spark we got won't ever die" 

ThIS SonG IS AbOUT ThEm BEinG puT togETHER aS a BAND. THIS IS MORE EMOTIONAL THAN THE VITAMIN C GRADUATION SONG (for those of you who don't know the origin story, the UK Xfactor Judges decided to go for another success band like One Direction the previous season, and out came Little Mix) Itsjustsobeautifulandtheyloveeachothersomuchandimsoemosh. HOw great of a way is that to end an album. Ugh the tears. 

As if this post wasn't long enough, here's a few other tings that might tickle your fancy. Sorry this is so exhaustively long. But y'all gotta have options. 

One of my newly found and favorited artists, Bill Ryder-Jones, just released a 10 track album as well. It's called West Kirby Country Primary. The album is very rugged and raw production wise, which has always been intriguing for my ear. The album has both soft rocky tones to not so soft rock tones. Slight reminders of Shrek as well, in the soft rock category.  

Nico and Vinz released a new 5 song EP And it's very good. Very slow, soothing. Think modern day Boyz 2 Men. I wasn't initially feeling it. Probably cuz I was walking to class half awake. But by the end, I really enjoyed it as a collective. So that's an option. 

Also, A Great Big World also released a really uplifting song called, Kaleidoscope. When I say uplifting, I mean that it made me feel a little bit less regret that I voluntarily signed up for an 8 o'clock class on a Friday....Never again. 

ALSO Sam Smith released a "Drowning Shadows Edition" of his debut album, In The Lonely Hour. This edition includes like 11 extra songs added to his originally released album. (So if you've been hiding under some sort of rock, you might want to educate yourself and give this album a listen. It's a three albums in one deal. The original. The deluxe. The Drowning Shadows Edition. Like why wouldn't you?)

ALSO ONE DIRECTION RELEASED ANOTHER SONG FROM THEIR UPCOMING FIFTH ALBUM AND OH EMGEE. BE EXCITED. Without any bias, Its actually a really good song. Please go listen to it. It's so funny because this album is SO. DIFFERENT. from anything they've done before. But its' so natural. It seems like this is THEIR sound. they found it. I don't know how to compare them to anyone else. So if you listen to this song, which is highly advisable, please let me know who they sound like because i just cannot pinpoint it right now and its quite frustrating to be quite honest. Alright, well that's my fangirl post for the week. Despite how exhausting this was, it was very fun and great. I can't wait to "cover" all the rest of "Album Season" *thumbs up emoji*

Alright, so obvs I love me a bit of One Direction. Like who doesn't? In preparation for the release of their fifth album, Made In The A.M., the BritIrish group released their like ten thousandth music video. I love it. Love the song, Love the video. But I got me some questions that need answering. 

1.You think Nialls feet are ticklish? 

2. Why is there a purse on the couch in Louis T's room? 

3. Why is Harry the only one who is wearing a suit? Like *heart eye emoji* but like why? 

4. Why are LILO such little shits? 

5. Why did they need to show LPs (Liam Payne) taddoo being "made"?

6. Also, did they think that we'd believe that he was really getting a taddo (*yes I'm spelling this wrong on purpose) for the video? Homie didn't get taddooed (*) one bit #fake

7. Is Harry's little ribbon tie ting (*) an homage to Brits 2013 Zayn?

 

8. Will One Direction use the money they saved on that cheesy ass video to pay my loans off? 

9. Why is Harry Styles trying on suits that are worth more than my entire life? 

10. WHO ARE THESE GIRLS?

Ten Thousand and One Thoughts on American Horror Story: Hotel ~ Episode One

Okay, so I lied. I didn't really come up with ten thousand and one thoughts while watching the first episode of season four of American Horror Story. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page.

Hiiii. Every month I manage to find many things that are intriguing and worthy of being calling a favorite of mine. This month, was a lot of sitting in front of my trusty computer and watching things while I await my family to return from work or school... As terribly boring as that may sound, and I promise you I am social, I manage to make the time alone valuable through various internetual things. 

I guess we'll start with all things TV/Movie since that's all I seem to do nowadays...

My first two favorites come from Netflix. Now that I am no longer in an eternal state of emergency due to higher education I can achieve my year long goal of watching everything on my "To Watch On Netflix...." list. House Of Cards can now be checked off the list, well season 1 at least.. Because I am now into all shows Presidential due to my obsession with Scandal, I decided that House of Cards would be a good way to go. I originally was inspired to watch the show because a youtuber/member of the band McFly, Tom Fletcher, was watching it with his wife. The first season was phenomenal. I have a bit of uncomfort with Kevin Spacey, who is the main character of the show. Spacey manages to choose very distinctly bizarre characters, AKA his character in American Beauty, which is also a phenomenal movie. If you have not yet seen it, please go watch it. But House of Cards is great, the first season was so so so good. The show is filled with twisty twists and you have to pay attention to everything. Please go watch it. Also Kate Mara is in the show and I adore her.

Next up is another Netflix Original, Marvel's Daredevil. Basically, all things Marvel are bound to be extraordinary, this was by no means an exception. I had no idea on anything having to do with the character Daredevil, besides the fact that the ever dreamy Ben Affleck played him in the movie Daredevil. I was going into this blind, not really knowing what to expect. And I came to know that this is one of the best shows I have ever binge watched and spend 13 hours of my life watching. The 13 hour moment on the couch was so worth it. Charlie Cox plays a blind attorney who's alternative senses are thus heightened making him a super human. Its great and the surround cast is great. The story line and writing of the story is phenomenal. please please please go watch this show. It's one hundred percent worth it. I guarantee it. 

Straying away from Netflix and onward to Red Box, because God bless Red Box. I was yet again blessed with a free movie code and I was especially excited because a certain movie that I have been dying to see was still at Red Box. Love, Rose is based on the book Love, Rosie. The main characters Alex and Rosie are played by Sam Claflin and Lily Collins, a lady whom I just found out is an offspring of Phil Collins. YEAH. THE GUY WHO WROTE THE TARZAN SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE. Just a tiny life changing revelation. Anyway. The book is written in letter style, the movie is not, which is only a little disappointing. The disappointment is kept to a minimum because of Sam's  smile. 

Like HONESTLY. Just look at that face. HE IS SO CUTE. The movie highlights the relationship between not only Rosie and Alex through the years, but also the confusing relationship between love and timing. The movie is absolutely adorable and the chemistry between Lily and Sam is to die for. They're just so gosh dang cute, go watch the movie. Also, it's extremely British...which add about ten thousand gold stars from me...

Away from movies and onto TV, THE BACHELORETTE IS BACK. Its honestly riveting that I came to the count that I have been watching this show for 6 seasons... I feel absolutely no shame at all. This season is a littleee bit different from others. This season we have Kaitlyn (YAAYYY) and Britt (not very much yay..) in the search to find love. I just really love watching this show and no one can convince me otherwise, so leave me be. Or come over and watch with me... I made an entire post about my reactions to the first week but I didn't post it because its been two weeks...so its just aging away in my drafts folder and I want to post it... Anyway I adore the show and the guys on the show this season are absolutely to die for. I am personally rooting for Chris the Dentist because hes adorable and any man who drives a cupcake car can continue to drive that baby right into my heart. *swoooon* 

Most favorites posts or videos often include alot of products, I am not a materialistic/ product kind of girl, but I do have one thing that I would die without and have been using just in the past couple of months. I hate having to go to and get my hair cut, you practically have to drag me. I take tons of pride in having long hair and cutting my hair is my worst nightmare, they always cut it far too short for my liking.. So in order to keep my hair looking good and avoiding my mothers scolding at how split ending my hair looks, I found this magic spray from Tresemme. The leave-in conditioning spray is from their split remedy line of products and it has been a god send. After a shower, you just spray this all over towel dried hair and comb it through to the ends and when your hair dries its as silky and perfect as freshly cut hair and I could praise the product as my own god. Honestly, this is the best thing ever. 

In case you haven't noticed, it's kind of graduation season! Not for me obvs, but for those who I have known since they were little itty bitty freshman. I was very fortunate to be home to attend and celebrate the graduating class of 2015 at Fariview High School. I gotta be honest, I don't thing anything can get more nostalgic than this. I had many people whom I call my very close friends graduate and I could not be more happy and proud of them. These graduates I have known since their freshman year and now they're no longer high school freshman, but college freshman. Like how is that even possible. I was just a gorgeous moment to see these young individuals ready for bigger and better things...*mom cries for ten thousand years*

As we all know, graduation is the station of inspirational quotes. I was never extremely moved by any quotes during my graduation or the other 4 FHS graduations I have attended, but this graduation is different. During a speech made by Fairview's principal, he made a plethora of references to famous quotes. But this one is one I had never heard before and it will stay with me for probably forever. I think I've thought about it at least once everyday since the graduation. 

I adore finding music and engulfing myself in it. This month I created a playlist of my favorite songs, I would love to go through each one and explain why I like them, but I think you've heard too much from me so I'll just leave that playlist for you to listen to here.. Please enjoy and jam to your hearts content.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: No for It or Go for It?

In the month that I have been home for summer break, I have found myself in the most peculiar position. Okay, not all that peculiar to be honest. I've been on the couch watching Netflix, procrastinating getting a job for the summer. Many of my Netflix endeavors during the school year included continuously watching and re-watching all 23 episode, 9 seasons of Supernatural (which is quite a phenomenal show).  Now that I am no longer in school and stressing out over everything and the sky, I can focus on my true hobby of binge watching all the TV shows I have had my eyes on since my best friend handed over her Netflix password. 

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a recent addition to my 'To Watch' list. I found interest in the show when I recognized that the main character was played by Ellie Kemper. Prior to watching the show, I had only known of Ellie from her appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. And now that I google Ellie to make sure I am spelling her name correctly, I now know that she was in both 21 Jump Street and Bridesmaids...Whooppss. Sorry Ellie, I should have known...

Despite a lack of knowledge in the world of Ellie Kemper, I'd have to say that I was surprised at how good the Netflix Original show turned out to be. Okay, I did not have the most faith in "Netflix Original's", but after all of the praise for Orange Is The New Black (a show that I still have to watch...put it on my ever growing list!) I decided to give it a chance.

The gist of the show is Kimmy Schmidt is recently rescued from an underground (literally and figuratively) apocalyptic cult and instead of remaining in the location of her dreaded past decides to restart life in the Big Apple, New York City. The show follows Kimmy in the adventures of a middle-school educated girl. 

Ellie was probably the only actress in the world who could pull off  Kimmys charm and charisma, which is probably why Co-Creator queen Tina Fey chose Ellie for the role. The show provides a refreshing humor to adult life, at least for me it did...Ellie nails the fish-out-of-water-but-not-caring-because-life-is-awesome character. The situations that Kimmy gets herself into are too relatable, making them all the more funnier. 

Okay the show may not have been 'laugh crying for dayz' funny, but it was good enough to keep me entertained for the duration of the season. FYI if you're trying to find time to pencil in 'Binge Watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' into your schedule, it took me about 6 1/2 hours of laying on the couch to finish the show..which I do advise you to do. You most likely won't regret me telling you that to be honest. Ellie is just the greatest. I adore her for much more that her hilarious Ellen interviews after watching this show. I enjoyed watching the show and I think you will too.

Alright, I am off to go watch 21 Jump Street and Bridesmaids for a good game of "Spot the Ellie".

Banbury Cross Donuts: Woah-nut or No-nut?

Living on your own you can get very lazy when it comes to cooking your own meals every single day. And we all know mom always preached about how beneficial it is to make your own meals, financially and nutritionally. But sometimes you just gotta overlook moms advice, especially when it comes to donuts (or doughnuts. However you would like to spell it.) 

Recently I found myself giving into the hype. A friend of mine was telling me about this little donut shop that is to die for. And I would always hear other people talking about how amazing this donut place is. So, I decided to find out for myself, just how extraordinary these donuts were. 

At the crack of sunrise, I popped around the corner to the Banbury Cross Donut shop. Yes, the shop was just around the corner from my house and it took me a full year to actually head over and eat some donuts. The night before I hopped on the interwebs and read numerous reviews of the shop. I went with the twelve most popular flavors. 

I left and returned home within thirty minutes with this cute little yellow box of donuts. And I'll admit, this was no cheap escapade. 11 dollars for a dozen donuts. I just kept telling myself, "for the internet!" 

This was only the first level in the yellow donut box house.

If you've never had a box of a dozen donuts to yourself, it's overwhelming. Staring at a double tiered box of donuts. I don't know where to start I will admit, I was very apprehensive about eating my weight in donuts. But when I opened the box, I was overwhelmed with a, "OHVMY god it smells so gooddd!", I think I might have awoken my roommate with that one...whooopss.

The first donut I took on was the twisted glazed. I ordered two because I thought my dad would want one and boy was I right. The next day he gobbled the other one up. The one pictured above received the good genes of the family. Appearance wise, the donut's got good raised look with great colour to it. I have learned from experience that colour determines the cookedness?.. Although it was a little under-cooked it was wonderful and fluffy and delicious. The ratio of glaze to donut was excruciatingly beautiful. You know those donut that have soo much glaze and it literally falls off when you bite it? This was definitely not one of those donuts. I am gonna have to give this donut a  'Woah-nut' rating. 

Next was the traditional glazed donut. Again, "Oh my god". This was literally the same as the twisted donut, but it still managed to blow my mind. My heart melted at the flufflyness to the bite. The glaze has a sort of orange citrusy quality about it. And it just works. Works so well. Woah-nut for this donut!

Chocolate glazed. The raised donuts are just to fluffy and wonderful. Despite a quality bread, the glaze is just so thin and delicate. It's like the popular hipster kid. Guaranteed to show up to the crappy party, but only barely showing up at the end just so they can say they "went to the party".. In short, the glaze, it barely shows up at the end of the bite. Banburys doesn't go short on its chocolate though. The glaze is very rich chocolate.. Chocolate glaze= Alright-nut

Blueberry white cake donut. If you know me at all, you will know that I am not a big fan of blueberry flavored anything. Unless its a baked good consistency. Since this is a cake donut and had loads of  positive reviews I figured I'd give it a try. My first reaction was that this donut is definitely a blueberry doughnut. There was loads of "blueberry" flavor to the glaze. It almost has a plasticity taste about it....Not my favorite. This one is like a Taylor Swift of the donut world. You see, it looks beautiful. And it tastes very sweet. But I just donut like it. I just feel like I don't know enough about this donut to like it, if you get what im saying..No-nut for me Taylor Swift donut.

Strawberry. There wasn't a whole lot to this one. Now I know donuts aren't rocket science., but the art of glazing a donut is. The glaze was just there, There wasn't anything too extremely special. It didn't taste like a strawberry donut, but then again when does anything strawberry actually taste strawberry. There just wasn't any sort of outstanding quality that designated it a popular strawb selection..Sorry strawberry, No-nut

At this point, I have turned on the hardcore rap, my go-to 'Lose Yourself' playing because I am so full of donut right now. I am not eating the whole donut, obvs. I'd probably die before I got through two of them. I proceeded to take a half-time to snapchat my struggle right now.
#firstworldproblems. <---yup im bringing that back.

But the show must continue..Chocolate cake with chocolate sprinkles. Nooottt the best looking donut. I may just be bitter because in the shop I had my eyes set on the white cake rainbow sprinkled donut, and I got the half sprinkled chocolate donut. But despite losing a quarter of my well deserved donuts' chocolate sprinkles, it revels on. My eyes got giant when I realized how good this thing is. There was much hype around this donut and, oh my god, the hype has never been more right. God bless the hype, WOah-nut

Rosette. I have no idea what the flavor of this donut is supposed to be, but its gorgeous. Almost too gorgeous to actually eat. I have never witnessed in my life a more beautiful donut (if you can even call it that). I don't know how to approach it. Do I cut it? Do I rip it? Do I bite it? Do I put it up for display at the Met? Thought process: "How do you.....oh! But it has a cinnamon roll aspect to it wait.. now I want to unravel it to see the construction of this design" It acts like it has a filling, but it doesn't. Putting architecture aside, its just a pretty glazed donut. Its almost as if its alter ego would be Harry Styles. I mean, it's versatile, pretty, looks like a cinnamon roll but it's really just a donut.. WOAh-nut little Harry Styles donut.

Apple fritter. The fritter looks like a complex ecosystem. I've never had a fritter before. Once again I am probed with the same questions from the Rosette. Do you bite it, do you cut it, is there a traditional way you eat it. Should I google how to eat a fritter because I've been sitting here for about ten minutes trying to figure out how to take on this son of a fritter. Remember when I said this fritter was a complex being? After taking a very large bite, I can confirm my complex being sentence. It's about the size of my head, and it tasted like a doughnut... Bit of a let down if I'm honest. Was there supposed to be apple in there...cuz i got none of that...maybe a small teenie weenie hint of apple. Fritter gets a Woah-nut for innovation.

Bear Claw. I have, again, never had a bear claw. But I have heard other people I know talking about Bear Claws in general being excellent. It sounds like a delectable treat. Looks like a delectable treat. I mean it LOOKS like a bear claw. I got a left pawed bear, donut know if left claws are better than right claws. Either way this left claw was not my favorite. I feel like someone just took the Cinnamon challenge and stuffed it in and all around a paw shaped donut....Nah-nut.

Cinnamon donut. The bear claw gives me no hope for the INFAMOUS cinnamon donut. The cinnamon donut actually has me scared. There is just so much cinnamon...it kind of looks like a dirt covered donut if I'm honest. Okay. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It;s a fluffy donut covered in a cinnamon crumble. I didn't mind it, but it wasn't my favorite thing in the world. Hmm. Woah-nut for overwhelmingness. No-nut for taste. Sorry cinnamon donut lovers of the world, and sorry Banbury's I didnt enjoy your crowd favorite..mom always said donut follow the crowd, right?


Well, that's the first and last time I will ever be in the same room with a dozen donuts. Don't get me wrong, it was a wonderful experience. Just not one I will ever be repeating ever again. Maybe I'm getting old...that's why I only enjoyed the simple glazed and not the extravagant. If there's anything I learned from this experience, it's that I am not the best food critic...Leave me alone, I did the best I could..
